The stresses of working in some parts of the world can take their toll on individuals.
Our Hostile Environments coaching packages are an extension of the inter-cultural coaching process. They prepare individuals to work in places that are dangerous or perceived as dangerous, and we also offer coaching to individuals returning from these places who may have had experiences that continue to trouble them.
By working with our specialist coaches, who have combat training or are able to use stress reducing visualisation processes, people in these roles can be supported and become more resilient.
‘Burn out’ can reduce the supply of skilled workers who are often so essential in the field. An investment in coaching can extend the operational life of an individual, as well as teaching them techniques to remain sharp and calm.
This kind of coaching may involve some self-defence style training, however the focus is on learning to notice threatening situations, giving the client time to avoid or defuse them.
We also focus on relaxation techniques to avoid anxiety or to overcome trauma.
The Coaching Consultancy will refer an individual to therapy if we consider their needs to be outside the remit of coaching. However, we have found that using visualisation techniques based on quickly resolving phobias, one or two sessions can put to an end to many of the symptoms of trauma, such as sudden anxiety attacks and disturbed sleeping patterns.
